I had a film on VHS long ago and can’t remember the name of it. This film is set in victorian times. Women of a good social class are being murdered by strangulation. The film centers around the relationship between a police constable and a particular young woman (who I thought was kiera knightley?). The main characters sister and maid gets murdered and in the end she sets herself up for bait by wearing a specific collar around her neck (to prevent being strangled) and the killer is found to be the vicar’s wife.

Your description makes me think of Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Silk Stocking (‘04).

Hers my story. I am an aspiring film editor. Film editing has long been my passion. I am planning to attend USC, UCLA, or NYU for grad school to get my masters degree. If I decide to become a professor of film instead of film editing, would a masters degree from one of these schools (three of the top film schools in the world) get me a career as a professor of film at a university?

I started on digital, and a friend suggested I try out film. Specifically Velvia 50 slide film. I like the results very much! Wow! I’m having a heck of a time, however, getting a lab to put them to a CD in anything other than JPG format. I know JPG is compressed, and loses a lot. What should I be asking for/looking for? What format should I have these Velvia film pics scanned as? TIFF, maybe?

Yup, TIFF.

Unless you’re lucky or paying extra, those files you’re getting now are probably low resolution JPGs. My local lab scans at 2.4 megapixels by default.

Rather than pay them some insane amount to scan things properly, I purchased a negative scanner myself. Just a simple Epson V600 (under $200 at B&H the last time I checked) but I’m quite happy with the results. A roll of 36 exposures requires 3 passes: it can handle 2 strips of 6 frames at a time.

Don’t fight against it… and try to control what others do and don’t do. If you’re not into it, don’t watch it. Simple as that.

Basically….if you’re NOT into porn, don’t worry about.

I know that in the book, bella punches jacob but doesn’t hurt him, but Kristen recently did an interview with teen mag KISS (its an irish magazine for teen girls) and these were some of the questions:

KISS: Jacob gets a bit angry when she goes to Italy after Edward, doesn’t he?

Kristen: Yes. That’s one of the things that happens in Eclipse. Jacob’s character sort of goes wrong.

KISS: Does he lose self-control?

Kristen: Exactly. He forces himself on her and he punches her in the face!

KISS: OMG did you punch Taylor back?

Kristen: I did punch something but it wasn’t Taylor!

I mean is this actually true?! Coz ive been getting Kiss for years and they don’t seem like the type of mag to make up rumours by changing interviews, and i don’t think Kristen is the type of person to joke around either!

So wat do u make of this? I hope its not true coz that will be just horrid to see violence like that in the film against women.

Jacob forces a kiss onto her kinda – but doesn’t he punch her in the face – but Bella does,well in the book anyway.

I think this interview got a bit messed up,because I read one of the film scripts and I didn’t see anything about him punching her either.
