How do I become a moive extra?

I’m looking to make some extra money and I’ve heard that being a movie extra can be a fun way to do so. But I don’t know of any web sites that are real or where to go or who to talk to. I don’t think I need a agent cause I’m not looking to make this as a career just some extra money
It really depends.
My sister was an extra on Titanic when part of the scenes were filmed in Mexico. She was paid 6.50 an hour while others were not.
It really depends on how much exposure you are looking for.
Some people want to be extras just to be on the big screen or television and really don’t care about payment.
If you want to actually have a speaking part or maybe a 2 or more minute exposure, then yes money will be involved.
You need to speak with a talent agent. They are the ones that will lead you in the right direction. That is where my sister started at.
Just don’t be expecting big pay as an extra. They are usually paid minimum wage.

Do they film movies in your area?
If they do, then they sometimes list casting calls in the local publications. You go to the casting calls and they take your picture and you have to fill out a form that tells them your stats, clothing size, and any special talents you have. Once you get into a major casting crews database they automatically call you after the first movie if they have a second if they like you or if they need you.
It’s was nice to see how they made the movies and see yourself on TV or in the movies but it’s kind of boring. You sit around while they shoot most of the day and just hang around. Easy money but it’s not really high paying unless you get a featured extra role.
