Depends, some people take years (James Cameron on Titanic and Avatar…supposedly), some do it in a couple of weeks (Quentin Tarantino again supposedly), most take a couple of months.
It really does depend though. I say the average is around a month and a half to 4 months.

None of them take the same amount of time, some could talk months longer than others. They have deleted scenes, too so nobody can really say except for each director making a movie.
