How do I get the trailer’s running lights and turn signals to work at the same time?

I just finished wiring a trailer and put a new plug on the truck. Everything works except when I try to turn the signals on while the running lights are on. The signals even work when the brake lights are on but not the running lights. Any ideas?

If it is wired correctly( which it doesn’t sound like it is) then the ground is not sufficient. Try using separate ground wires to each tail light rather than a common ground, just through the trailer frame.

You need "Double Element Bulbs & Sockets" If you hit the Brakes and everything comes on then it’s Wired Wrong or you Crossed the Wires somewhere.

Trailer running lights are single elements bulbs and turn signals are dual element bulbs, it wont work unless you change out the bulbs, sockets and rewire it.
